EVIDENT Group has joined the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HKVCA) as a full member.

Founded in 1987, the HKVCA is Asia's largest private capital association. Its members span the region's general partners, institutional investors and family offices. The Association represents more than 520 corporate members with a combined US$2 trillion in assets under management, and it promotes professional ethics and international best practices across the industry.

‍A defining moment for Asian private markets

We join at a defining moment. The next phase of growth in Asian private markets will be shaped by how capital from private wealth reaches private assets, and by how investors manage those positions over time.

Bain & Company's Asia-Pacific Private Equity Report 2026 found that exit value in the region rose 24% in 2025 and that net distributions to investors turned positive for the first time since 2021, after three years of net outflows. The same report found that fundraising fell to about US$58 billion, its lowest level in 12 years.

‍Capital from private wealth

The Securities and Futures Commission's Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey 2025 reported that assets under management in Hong Kong rose 20% in 2025 to a record HK$42.2 trillion (US$5.4 trillion), with private banking and private wealth management assets up 24% to HK$12.9 trillion.

The UBS Global Family Office Report 2026, based on a survey of 307 family offices worldwide, found that alternative asset classes make up 42% of their strategic allocations, with private equity at 17%. UBS also reports that family offices in Asia Pacific and Europe are looking to increase allocations to Asia Pacific and Western Europe, and that they are paying closer attention to liquidity constraints, valuation uncertainty and concentration risk in their private-market exposure.

‍Where EVIDENT contributes

Liquidity is central to that, and it is where we contribute: market infrastructure and capital for holders to find liquidity and investors to find established, maturing positions.

‍Looking ahead

We look forward to contributing to the Association's work and to the development of Hong Kong as Asia's private capital hub.
